Chuko Online Point Usage Terms and Conditions
1. General Provisions
Nippon Chuko Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") provides the "Point" service (hereinafter referred to as "this Service") to members who have registered on the "ChukoOnline" website "https://www.nippon-chuko.co.jp/shop/" (hereinafter referred to as "this Site") in accordance with its "Terms of Use". This Service is provided based on these terms and conditions, and members are deemed to have agreed to these terms and conditions when using this Service. Matters not stipulated in these terms and conditions shall be subject to the terms of use of this Site, various regulations of this Site, and procedures.
Members who transact through our sales representatives, even if they shop through this Site, will not be provided this Service. This Service is provided only when transactions proceed through this Site until completion of shipment.
Points awarded through this Service are separate from points awarded for shopping at physical stores. Points awarded on this Site cannot be used for shopping at stores, nor can points earned at our stores be used on this Site.
2. Awarding of Points
The Company will award "Points" (hereinafter referred to as "Points") to members who purchase products on this Site in a manner specified by the Company, and in other cases deemed appropriate by the Company.
The Company decides the conditions of point awarding, number of points, earning rate, timing, and other conditions related to point awarding. The Company retains the right to determine all conditions related to points. Members shall comply with the decisions of the Company.
When a member logs in to this Site and purchases a product, or when a transaction proceeds through this Site until completion of shipment, predetermined points will automatically be added on the product shipment date (dispatch date) set by the Company. The amount eligible for point awarding (point earning rate) is the total product amount after deducting consumption tax, shipping fees, and other various fees from the product total amount after using points and coupons.
If the Company confirms a cancellation of the order between the order date and the product shipment date (dispatch date), points will not be awarded, and if there is a change in the total product amount during that period, the eligible amount for awarding will be recalculated based on the changed total product amount.
The Company will notify members on this Site regarding transactions and services eligible for point awarding, point earning rate, and other conditions of point awarding.
3. Management of Points
The Company will notify members of the number of points earned, points used, and the balance of points in a manner determined by the Company.
The Company decides the conditions of point awarding, number of points, earning rate, timing, and other conditions related to point awarding. The Company retains the right to determine all conditions related to points. Members shall comply with the decisions of the Company.
If a member has doubts about the number of points as per the previous paragraph, they must immediately contact the Company and explain the situation. The final decision regarding the number of points in the first paragraph will be made by the Company, and the member shall comply with it.
4. Prohibition of Consolidation and Multiple Registrations of Points
Members cannot transfer or pledge their points to other members, nor share points among members. If a member has multiple registrations, they cannot combine points held in each registration.
5. Cancellation of Points
If, after the Company has awarded points, there is a return or cancellation of the purchased product, or any other reason deemed appropriate by the Company for cancellation of point awarding, the Company may cancel the awarded points.
If the Company deems that a member falls under any of the following items, the Company may cancel some or all of the points held by the member without prior notice.
(1)In case of illegal or fraudulent activities
(2)In case of violation of these terms and conditions, terms of use, or other regulations and rules set by the Company
(3)In other cases where the Company deems it appropriate to cancel the awarded points
The Company will not compensate for cancelled points and bears no responsibility.
6. Expiration of Points
There is no expiration date for points.
The expiration date may change or be added without notice, but members shall comply with the decisions of the Company in any case.
7. Use of Points in Payment
Only members holding more than 1 point are eligible to use points.
Members can use their points as an equivalent of 1 point = 1 yen for paying part of the total product price (excluding consumption tax) for products sold on this Site. (Consumption tax, shipping fees, cash on delivery fees are excluded)
The minimum points a member can use in one order is 1 point, and the maximum is the number of points held.
Points cannot be used in other ordering methods including shopping at our physical stores (FAX, TEL, MAIL, postal mail, etc.), affiliate companies, or sites of other companies accessible from this Site.
The Company has the right to set limits on the use of points, such as the minimum and maximum points that can be used in a single order, and the maximum points that can be used in a month. These limits may change or be added without notice, but members shall comply with the decisions of the Company in any case.
If a member cancels a payment under Article 5, the points used for that payment will generally be returned as points, and not in cash. In the case of a "partial return or partial cancellation" where only a few of multiple purchased items are returned or cancelled, the points used at the time of purchase will not be returned (in the case of payment by credit card, partial returns or cancellations are not accepted).
If the payment amount increases for any reason after a member has used points for payment, the member shall pay the increased amount using another payment method.
8. Limitation of Liability
In case of delay, loss, theft, damage, or other accidents during delivery or after providing the product subject to payment under Article 7, the Company bears no responsibility and will not refund points, except when the accident is due to the Company's responsibility.
9. Cancellation of Points After Use
If points are cancelled under Article 5, Paragraphs 1 or 2 after a member has used points for payment under Article 7, the member shall immediately pay the shortfall in cash or another payment method specified by the Company.
10. Non-Convertible to Cash
Under no circumstances can members convert points into cash.
11. Use by Third Parties
Points can only be used by the member themselves and not by any third party.
If the Company confirms that the user ID and password entered at the time of point use match those registered, the Company will consider it as use by the member. Even if it is unauthorized use by a third party, the Company will not return the used points and bears no responsibility for any damage incurred by the member.
12. Taxes and Costs
Members shall bear any taxes and incidental costs arising from the acquisition or use of points.
13. Loss or Suspension of Membership
If a member loses their membership status, they lose all rights related to the use of this Service, including points held, and will not acquire any claim rights against the Company due to the loss of status.
14. Disclaimer
The Company will do its best in the operation of this Service based on the current level of technology, but does not guarantee that there will be no disruptions. The Company bears no responsibility for any damage incurred by members due to system interruptions, delays, suspensions, data loss due to power outages, communication line or computer failures, or any other damage related to the use of points or this Service.
